Yes, the Floors Rumbled as the Children Sang

Upon arriving in downtown San Antonio for the Benny Hinn Training for Ministry Conference at the Henry B. Gonzales Center approximately 90 minutes early we were met with a amazing amount of cars and traffic as there was also one of the main city festivals going on called Fiesta. Slowly, but surely we were able to find a parking space near the Mariott Hotel across from the convention center. Many, many, people were walking the streets, and many of these were all moving toward the convention center with an anticipation of excitement. Some that I ran into had come all the way from New York just to be at this conference. Some that had come were even from foreign countries. As we escalated up the stairs, and found ourselves on an upper floor in a huge upper room seating many thousands of people. The excitement and anticipation was high. The room itself had a ceiling of deep blackish green, with brownish-tan like diamond architectural designs arrayed in a very pleasant set up, as we sat in seats on the floor with kinglike carpet. On the floors were the cameras, and the booms, and loads of electronic equipment used to coordinate this wonderful event. As the praise team came in there was a lot of singing, and praise, and worship. A gentle warmth filled the air. A sense of joyfulness, anticipation, and celebration, filled the great auditorium. We sang and we sang and we sang. At each of the three sessions of this training conference did we sing like this. At a point there was even a sense of rumbling in the floors. Thousands of people jumping and praising to where the concrete foundations under our very feet rumbled. Yes, the floors rumbled as the children sang. Many essential teachings were spoken by Benny Hinn about things that we would need with respect to these end times. We were being trained about how the preaching comes with power. 1 Corinthians 2:4 . We were trained that in order to use this power we would have to learn to surrender. That it is not the presence of God that heals, but rather the power of God that heals. As you surrender something begins to happen. As power begins to flow out of you, you begin to see the reality of God’s word. These kinds of things were all said by Benny Hinn to us and we really felt like God was preparing us through Him, for the glorious times in Him, soon to come. At the morning session on Saturday at the conference Benny Hinn and Steve Brock went back and forth with jokes, just being themselves, for about 30-40 minutes. It was a different side of Benny Hinn that I had never seen before. He really treated us like family, and we all felt very included. It was almost like a retreat around the campfire kind of feeling. I saw Benny Hinn a very sincere man full of love and friendship and life. Real Christians, Real people, and real love. Many were touched by the power of God as the conference sessions went on. To those who have questions about Benny Hinn’s validity, let me say He is a man I would personally like to get to know. His heart is filled with desire to share God’s word with people all around the world. His heart is filled with joy of sharing the things that God is doing with Him around the world. As an observer he does not strike me as a man that is out for himself, whatsoever. In fact it is very much so to the contrary. I wonder how many of us have in our background history the level of giving that He has done and is still doing. If we compared ourselves I wonder how many would walk away, like the Pharisee’s did when Jesus said to them, “ He that is without sin, cast the first stone.” As far as the power of God flowing through Him, as far as people falling over or being slain in the Spirit, I have to report that it is very real. Not only would people fall when they were barely physically touched, many would fall over with just the gesture of just the passing of his hand. I saw at least 50-100 people all fall back in their chairs by the power being demonstrated by God. See, Jesus said that the Holy Spirit is like the wind in the Gospel of John 3 . In the book of Acts it states that the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost rushed into the upper room like a mighty wind. Jesus stated also that his disciples would do the same works and even greater works than He would do with respect to miracles. But the key here is “the believer”. One does have to believe that God can work through Him for God to do it. Benny Hinn has just learned how to operate in God’s presence and in His power. How do I know this. In this particular conference I was up about 7 rows from the stage on the right. At one point, Benny Hinn started down the rows, one by one, and was laying hands on people in the crowd. I knew there was a good possibility that I myself might get touched by Him for the first time. I got real excited, because I wanted to find out what it was like. Well let me tell you. There was a warmth that immediately went through my arm, as he lightly grabbed a hold of my wrist just for a second. The next thing that happened was a kind of cold shivering feeling, an electric feeling, that went all over my body. The next thing I new I was upon my back teetering on my chair at a 45 degree angle with arms and legs in the air shaking strongly like an electric current was going through me. About 30 seconds into the shaking, I started to try to recollect myself and noticed I felt very woosy like I was drunk with a high quality wine. Is it real? It is very real, very real indeed. But don’t believe me, go to one of these crusades or conferences yourself and honestly check it out for yourself. The proof as they say is in the puddin. God revealed himself through His power through the Holy Spirit back then, and He is still doing it through very dedicated men in the Spirit today. Don’t knock it until you try it. I can watch someone bungee jump and develop an opinion about it, or I can actually bungee jump and get to know what it really is like. Bungee rhymes with Reinhard Bonnke and yes, He came from Africa, and he was there as well. It was wonderful as he shared his story on how he came to be where he was. It was very interesting. He had shared with us in how he had rode across London, England just after he graduated at a christian college, in a 2 level bus. He was left off in a residential area and came to a house that stated, George Jeffries, who was a great and an anointed evangelist. He eventually knocked and was met by a tough and stout housekeeper who had no intention to let him in to see Mr. Jeffries. But, from the recesses behind the door came a voice that said, “Let Him in”. So, she let him in and he found himself in the presence of this great evangelist. Within a very short time this frail old man had laid hands upon Bonnke, and prayed over his life. When Bonnke got home to Germany, his father had told him that a great evangelist had just died named George Jeffries. Bonnke knew then that he had been placed with a “mantle” over his life. This then is the story of how Bonnke came to be ministering to millions of people, in Africa. That was just the good stuff now here is the surprise. The surprise is that then Bonnke proceeded to pray and release his anointing over us! It was great to be receiving blessing from such a man of God. The whole conference was full of surprise, wonder, and good blessings. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone, especially those that are seeking to get a closer experience with God.
