Editorial on Honey Bees
| We have seen the articles on the disappearance of the honey bees. Articles speaking of the affects of the honey bee loss appear potentially devastating to our crops and to our pocketbooks. While some think its the cell phone, and another thinks it a virus, or that it might be a mite, there may be another underlying cause that is not so apparent. Yes, it is important for the scientist to discover just what is happening with our bees as it is docuemnted as world wide. There is also discussion that some other forms of bee species are also beggining to be affected as well. Yet, if we dig a little deeper we might find a connection to this problem on a spirtual level. In the bible, bees pollinate many plants and flowers, but bees are especially known scriputurally for making honey. Honey in the bible is associated with wisdom and light for the eyes. (1 Samuel 14:24 Psalm 119:105 Psalm 19:9 Proverbs 2:2 Proverbs 4:5 Proverbs 18:4) America since the 1960s has been in a serious decay morally in many areas. We are at a point where are morals have almost been completely comprimised. This along with the abortion issue where many consider this to be murder is seriously affecting our relationship with God as a whole as a nation. Perhaps as a nation we are not choosing to be wise as we used to be. Perhaps we've have already lost our honey spiritually long ago. Since we have lost our figurative honey long ago, perhaps now we are seeing the consequences made physically manifest. If a significant amount of crops are effected, then many animals, including ourselves will also be affected with respect to food. In Revelation it speaks of spending a days wage just to get a loaf of bread. Are we on the outskirts of a famine? We are most certainly as a world, under a great deal of pressure, with the wars, and disease, and climatic disasters that have occurred over the past few years. Where is the release and where is the peace? God said in Proverbs that "The fear of the Lord is the beggining of wisdom". Since He is the Lord of the flies, and the Lord of the bees, perhaps its time that we fell to our knees and pray. God promised if we humbled ourselves and got down on our knees and pray, that he would hear our prayer, and heal our land. Pray that many get busy like bees and draw near to the love of God, the wisdom of God, and the honey of God. As we draw close to the word and pollinate our mind with His wisdom, perhaps He will give us an answer to our bee problem, as we deal with our bee-attitude problem. |
